ASEAN Advances Regional Commitment to Prevent Child Labour and End its Worst Forms Beyond 2025

Jakarta, July 2 (AseanAll)  — The Workshop on Development of the Post-2025 Roadmap on Prevention of Child Labour Including Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour was conducted in Bangkok and virtually on 1-2 July 2025 by the Ministry of Labour of Thailand, together with the ASEAN Secretariat and International Labour Organization (ILO).

The Workshop brought together 85 representatives of ASEAN bodies in charge of labour, children’s rights, social welfare, rural development and poverty eradication, agriculture and fisheries, education, transnational crimes, human rights, and statistics. Representatives of workers’ and employers’ organisations from the region also joined. 

Participants reviewed the key elements of the draft Roadmap including its monitoring and evaluation framework, as well as inter-sectoral cooperation mechanisms. 

The Roadmap is planned to be finalised and adopted in 2025.
