Cambodian Senate President Meets Outgoing Ambassador of Timor-Leste

Phnom Penh, July 2 (AseanAll)  — Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, on July 1,2025 held talks with Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes, outgoing Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Cambodia, at the Senate Palace in Phnom Penh.

Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Senate of Cambodia, said during his farewell meeting, Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes recalled good memories during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.

He also thanked Cambodia for its support for his nation to be a full member of ASEAN at the upcoming ASEAN Summit in October.

Hun Sen highlighted his recent visit to Timor-Leste, noting that he received a warm welcome from the people and leaders of the country.

The Senate President also updated Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes about the latest situation of the border tension between Cambodia and Thailand, emphasising that the Royal Government of Cambodia has tried its best for a lasting peaceful resolution based on international laws.
