Jakarta, June 24 (AseanAll)  — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a phone call from President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung on June 23, 2025. The phone conversation of both state leaders has become an important momentum in strengthening bilateral relations that have been established between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea(South Korea).

Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that in the phone conversation, President Lee expressed appreciation for President Prabowo’s attention and congratulations on his victory in the general election held on June 3, 2025.

“President Lee expressed gratitude for President Prabowo’s letter of congratulations on President Lee’s victory in the presidential general election held on June 3, 2025, and his inauguration on the day after,” Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy said in his statement on June 24.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy, Lee Jae-myung also expressed his intention to conduct a state visit to Indonesia. Additionally, both heads of state also had a discussion on the current global situation.

“Both state leaders also shared views on the current global situation, and they agree to continue and strengthen the partnership of both countries,” Teddy said.

Teddy explained further that the Republic of Korea is one of Indonesia’s major partners in trade and investment sectors. Up to now, the bilateral cooperation between the two countries has continuously shown very positive development.

“The Republic of Korea is one of Indonesia’s major partners in trade and investment, in which the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea continues to show very significant development,” Teddy remarked.
