Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister receives Ambassador of India to Myanmar

 (AseanAll) —  U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Abhay Thakur, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on 29 April 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, U Than Swe expressed his appreciation to India for providing humanitarian assistance and for sending search and rescue teams as well as medical teams to Myanmar in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. 

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation in the ongoing rescue and relief efforts for the victims of the earthquake and in other areas of mutual interest.
