(AseanAll) — The excellence of Indonesia's textile industry, as one of the nation's economic pillars, is being showcased through the Indonesia Pavilion at the Source Fashion exhibition, held at Olympia Events, London from 18 to 20 February,2025.

As one of the largest fashion platforms in Europe, this exhibition is committed to featuring responsible and sustainable textile materials and is attended by renowned brands such as Marks & Spencer, ASOS, Barbour, and NEXT. Indonesia is represented by PT Dan Liris, Dialesha Indonesia Global, PT Excellence Qualities Yarn, PT Nagamas Kurnia, and PT Pan Brothers. Exhibitors will present a range of premium products, including dresses, blouses, and jackets, made from high-quality and eco-friendly materials.

As one of Indonesia’s key export commodities, the progress of the textile industry amid the global economic landscape presents a shared challenge. This exhibition is expected to connect leading Indonesian garment companies with potential buyers from the UK and Europe.
During the opening ceremony of the Indonesia Pavilion, the Indonesian Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, Desra Percaya, emphasized the critical role of the national textile and garment industry in employment absorption, export contributions, and GDP, while also leveraging Indonesia-UK bilateral relations. “For the first time, the Indonesia Pavilion is present at Source Fashion, the largest textile and apparel exhibition in the UK and Europe. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s textile and apparel industry and businesses,” stated Ambassador Desra.
The Source Fashion exhibition features exhibitors from at least 25 countries, all of whom have been audited by SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) to ensure that sustainability is genuinely implemented throughout their supply chains. The exhibition is expected to attract approximately 30,000 visitors.
In addition to the exhibition booth, the Indonesian Embassy in London (KBRI London), in collaboration with Hyve Group, is organizing a talk show titled "Sourcing Sustainable Textile and Garment in Indonesia: Opportunities, Relationship, and Cultural Insights” (19 February). The event will feature Anne Patricia Sutanto, CEO of PT Pan Brothers, and Sherlina Kawilarang, CEO of PT Excellence Qualities Yarn, as keynote speakers.
Currently, Indonesia ranks among the world's top 10 textile-exporting countries. With its strong potential, the Indonesian textile industry can leverage the solid and positive Indonesia-UK bilateral relations to further expand its garment exports to the UK market. “With Indonesia’s textile exports reaching at least USD 8.3 billion in 2024, there is significant potential to expand exports, particularly to the UK,” added the Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in London.
The presence of the Indonesia Pavilion is a result of synergy between KBRI London and the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. Participants of the Indonesia Pavilion are expected to expand their networks and establish new business partnerships at Source Fashion. The potential transaction target for the Indonesia Pavilion at this exhibition is estimated to reach USD 1.5 million.
