(AseanAll) — Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on February 17,2025.
The two officials discussed efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation, including through existing dialogue mechanisms and economic partnerships.
Sugiono highlighted Indonesia’s current focus on strengthening collaboration in food and energy security. In this regard, he welcomed the upcoming 13th Indonesia-Russia Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation, set to take place in Jakarta this April.
Sugiono also expressed hope for Russia’s continued support for Indonesia’s trade partnership with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Additionally, Sugiono expressed hope for Russia’s support for Indonesia’s national programs and the Asta Cita agenda. He also conveyed appreciation for Russia’s support of Indonesia’s full membership in BRICS, earlier this year.
Indonesia and Russia have enjoyed 75 years of diplomatic relations, with cooperation spanning various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and tourism.
