(AseanAll)  —  Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) once again participated in the 2025 Singapore Chingay Parade. Supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Singapore, this marks JFC's second involvement in one of the largest cultural parades and carnivals in Asia, held from February 7–8, 2025, at the F1 Pit in Singapore. JFC had previously participated in the Chingay Parade in 2014.

Jember Fashion Carnaval is recognized as one of the largest fashion carnivals in Indonesia, showcasing a variety of spectacular costumes that blend traditional and modern Indonesian cultural elements in line with the 2025 Chingay theme, "Joy." JFC was part of 200 international performers, appearing alongside cultural contingents from Malaysia, China, Cambodia, Japan, South Korea, and Kazakhstan.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, Suryo Pratomo, expressed his pride in JFC’s participation in the 2025 Chingay Parade. "This is an extraordinary opportunity for Indonesia to showcase our creativity and cultural richness on an international stage. Through this parade, I hope it will further strengthen international relations and promote Indonesian culture in Singapore," emphasized the Ambassador.

At the Chingay Parade, 40 JFC talents showcased stunning and vibrant costumes featuring symbols of Indonesia’s diversity, incorporating food elements such as tumpeng, prol tape, suwar suwir, satay, and typical Indonesian fruits. The JFC team was also invited to accompany Singapore's Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong, and President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on the Chingay 2025 stage.

The Chingay Parade 2025 is renowned as one of the most prestigious parades and carnivals in the world, combining various elements of art and culture from different countries. The parade features over 4,000 performers, culinary-themed floats, captivating costumes, and dynamic music and choreography that reflect Singapore's cultural diversity.

JFC’s participation in the parade will be part of Indonesia's broader effort to introduce its rich cultural heritage to the world while promoting Indonesia’s creative industries. As part of its cultural diplomacy commitment, the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore supports JFC's involvement in the event, which is expected to have a positive impact on the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore, as well as enhance Indonesia’s positive image globally.
