Brunei Minister of Defence II receives introductory call from Pakistan Non-Resident Defence Adviser accredited to Brunei

 (AseanAll)  — On October 29 2024, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof,  Brunei Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, received an introductory call from Commodore Javed Iqbal Khan Niazi, the Non-Resident Defence Adviser of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan accredited to Brunei Darussalam.

During the call, the Minister congratulated Commodore Javed Iqbal Khan Niazi on his appointment as the new Defence Adviser accredited to Brunei Darussalam. Both sides discussed the bilateral defence relations, which continue to be promoted through the Joint Defence Working Committee, exchanges of visits, training and courses.

The Minister expressed hope to further expanding the bilateral defence relationship from both sides in the field of defence and military cooperation. 

Commodore Javed Iqbal Khan Niazi has been accredited as the new non-resident Defence Adviser of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam on 7 October 2024, and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
