Cambodian NA President to Pay an Official Visit to China

Phnom Penh, September 17 (AseanAll)  — Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, is going to lead a high-level delegation to pay an official and friendly visit to China from September 22 to 26,2024.

At the invitation of Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China (NPC), the five-day visit aims to further strengthen the bond of friendship and good cooperation between the two legislative bodies and countries under both bilateral and multilateral frameworks guided by the spirit of traditional relationship, comprehensive strategic partnership, and ironclad friendship, for the benefits of both nations and peoples.

Both sides also aim to leverage parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation to build a people-centered Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in a new era.

During the visit, Khuon Sudary will pay a courtesy call on Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and hold bilateral meeting with her counterpart Zhao Leji.

Khuon Sudary and Zhao Leji will sign parliamentary cooperation agreement to promote bilateral exchanges, capacity building, and information and knowledge sharing at all levels.

Both parliamentary leaders will also preside over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Secretariat-General of the National Assembly of Cambodia and the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China.

As planned, Khuon Sudary will continue her visit in Shanghai to hold various meetings with Chinese side to further promote Cambodia-Shanghai relations and cooperation in the areas of economy and culture.

Besides, the Cambodian delegation will visit historical, cultural and industrial sites in Beijing and Shanghai as part of fostering people-to-people contacts that is key to endure bilateral friendship and good cooperation between the two countries and peoples.
