Bandar Seri Begawan, June 21 (AseanAll) — On 20 June 2024 , Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received in audience General Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces.

The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.

Accompanying Songwit Noonpackdee were Boosara Kanchanalai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam and senior officials from the Royal Thai Armed Forces.



Meanwhile, in a separate audience, Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, the Queen of Brunei also received in audience Mrs Panyada Noonpackdee, spouse of Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces.

Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand have established diplomatic relations since 1984, marking 40 years of bilateral relations between the two countries. The close relations between both countries have been further strengthened through various regional and international platforms such as ASEAN, the United Nations (UN) and the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). Defence and military activities conducted include courses, exchanges of visits, meetings and exercises, as well as through multilateral platforms particularly under the ambit of the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM).
