Brunei Minister of Defence II receives a courtesy call from High Commissioner of Pakistan to Brunei

(AseanAll)  — Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Brunei Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II received a courtesy call from Major General (Retired) Farhat Abas, High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, on June 5, 2024.

During the call, Yang Berhormat Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II expressed gratitude to Major General (Retired) Farhat Abas for his active involvement in enhancing bilateral cooperation and relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. 


Both sides expressed happiness that this year marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both countries.

Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan established diplomatic relations on 9 February 1984.  Both countries also reached a milestone of the 20th anniversary of defence cooperation, since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Defence Cooperation in May 2004.
