Indonesian President Witnesses Deputy Chief Justice’s Oath-taking Ceremony

Jakarta, May 15 (AseanAll)  — On May 15,2024, Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo witnessed the taking oath of Suharto as the new Deputy Chief of the Supreme Court (MA) for Non-Judicial Matters, at the State Palace, Jakarta.

The ceremony was commenced with the reverberation of the national anthem Indonesia Raya followed by the recitation of Presidential Decree Number 54/P of 2024 on the Honorable Dismissal of Chairperson of Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court and Appointment of Deputy Chief of the Supreme Court for Non-Judicial Matters. The Presidential Decree was read by Deputy to Minister of State Secretary for Apparatuses’ Administration Affairs Nanik Purwanti.


Afterward, Suharto took the oath of office before the Head of State.


“By Allah, I solemnly swear to fulfill the duties of Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for Non-Judicial Matters in the best and fairest way possible, to bear true faith and allegiance to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and to execute all laws and regulations in an upright manner according to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia for the sake of the state and the nation,” Suharto recited.


Jokowi and Suharto then proceeded with the signing of the minutes to conclude the ceremony.
