Brunei Minister of Defence II receives a courtesy call from Singapore's Chief of Defence Force

Bandar Seri Begawan, February 2 (AseanAll)  — Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Brunei Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II received a courtesy call from Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, Chief of Defence Force, Republic of Singapore, on February 1, 2024. 

During the call, Yang Berhormat congratulated Vice Admiral Aaron Beng upon his appointment as Chief of Defence Force, Republic of Singapore since 24 March 2023. 

Yang Berhormat also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the newly-transferred patrol vessels, KDB AS-SIDDIQ and KDB AL-FARUQ which have been commissioned in Brunei Darussalam on 21 March 2023 and 13 December 2023 respectively. 


He also commended the recent successful conclusion of 26th edition of the annual bilateral Exercise MAJU BERSAMA on 25 January 2024, which was attended by Major General David Neo, Chief of Army, Singapore Army. 

Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore share excellent and long-standing defence relationship, underpinned by high-level visits, regularly-held bilateral exercises, cross-attendance of courses, and professional exchanges at all levels. 


Singapore Vice Admiral Aaron Beng is currently visiting Brunei Darussalam from 31 January until 2 February 2024.
