(AseanAll) — On January 16, 2024，Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn met with Executive Director of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO), Dr. Park Chongho, at the ASEAN Secretariat, to discuss the promotion of sustainable forest management and empowering forest communities in the region.
During the meeting, Dr. Kao emphasized the crucial role of forests in the pursuit of carbon neutrality within ASEAN, highlighting the need for concerted efforts and collaborative measures to conserve, protect, and sustainably manage forest resources to mitigate climate change and achieve a sustainable and resilient future for the ASEAN region.
