The Sultan of Brunei receives Chief of the Defence Force, Australia Defence Force

Istana Nurul Iman, September 1  (AseanAll)  — Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 31 August 2023 at Istana Nurul Iman received in audience General Angus John Campbell, AO, DSC, Chief of the Defence Force, Australia Defence Force.

Accompanying the Sultan were Luke Arnold, High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam, Wing Commander Matthew Xerri, Defence Adviser Australia to Brunei Darussalam, Warrant Officer Ken Robertson, Senior Enlisted Adviser to Chief of the Defence Force Australia, and Mr David Bolton, Director Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei, International Policy Division, Department of Defence, Australia.

Brunei Darussalam and Australia has a long history of defence cooperation that is supported by a comprehensive bilateral defence that encompasses visits, professional exchanges, exercises, training and courses. The bilateral defence relations between both countries were strengthened with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Defence Activities signed on 10 May 1999. 

General Angus Campbell and his delegation were in the country for a two days official visit from 30 to 31 August 2023.
