Phnom Penh, July 4 (AseanAll)  — Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has spoken highly of the development of Buddhist education in the country.

According to Cambodia state news agency AKP, while presiding over the graduation ceremony of more than 500 students of Preah Sihamoni Raja Buddhist University, held at Chaktomuk Conference Hall in Phnom Penh on July 3, the monarch commended the Royal Government, particularly the Ministry of Cults and Religious Affairs, for their endeavours in developing the field of Buddhist education throughout the country, from primary to higher education.

The King also lauded the efforts of both student monks and ordinary students of Preah Sihamoni Raja Buddhist University who have strived to acquire knowledge in order to contribute to building the Cambodian nation full of happiness, peace and prosperity.

Preah Sihamoni Raja Buddhist University is an older public higher education institution composed of four faculties and 7 other departments: Educational Science, Management, Philosophy of Buddhism, Law, English language, Information Technology, and Khmer Literature. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral training for student monks and ordinary students.
