Myanmar Leader Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with Russian Orthodox Archbishop

Nay Pyi Taw  May 5 (AseanAll)  —  Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing received a Russian delegation led by Orthodox Metropolitan of Singapore and South-East Asia His Eminence Sergiy in Nay Pyi Taw on May 4, 2023.

According to Myanmar International TV(MITV), they discussed matters on promoting bilateral relations, reciprocal exchange of culture and religion, strengthening friendship between the two countries and its people and establishment of Russia Orthodox Church in Myanmar.


They also talked about the establishment of Buddha Center and Shwezigon Replica Pagoda in Russia and construction of the world largest Maravijaya Marble Buddha Image in Myanmar. 


The Metropolitan also expressed his wished for achieving development, peace and stability in Myanmar.

After the meeting, Min Aung Hlaingand Sergiy exchanged commemorative gifts and had documentary photos taken together with attendees.
