Thai Prime Minister meets with executives of Bank of America, Microsoft, and PIMCO

(AseanAll)  —  On September 22, 2026 (New York City local time), at the Bank of America Tower, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul had meetings with senior executives from 3 leading U.S. financial institutions and investment funds: Bank of America, Microsoft, and PIMCO.

The Prime Minister highlighted the Government’s policy on fostering an investment‑friendly environment, and expressed delight for the opportunity to exchange views with executives of leading U.S. financial institutions and funds. He emphasized that global financial institutions play a crucial role in connecting Thailand with international investors and capital sources, while also providing insightful business perspectives that can help improve Thailand’s investment climate.

Bank of America President of International Business commended the Thai Government’s policies which align with global development trends of the future, especially promotion of artificial intelligence, digital technology, and the transition to clean energy. He also confirmed his visit to Thailand next month to attend the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings, and Bank of America’s commitment to a long‑term partnership with Thailand, focusing not only on capital investment but also on future technologies and sustainability.

In his discussion with the Microsoft executives, the Prime Minister emphasized cooperation promotion in digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure, human capital development, and cybersecurity. This is to support Thailand’s goal of becoming a regional hub for the digital economy and AI. The Prime Minister also thanked Microsoft for its support in Thailand’s accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD), which will help elevate standards, regulations, productivity, and competitiveness, thereby, enabling Thai businesses to integrate into the global supply chains and compete in the digital economy in an effective manner.

The Prime Minister also exchanged views with PIMCO executives on global economic and financial outlook, capital flow trends, and key factors, which leading institutional investors take into consideration in making investment decisions.

According to the Prime Minister, insights and perspectives from global investors are indeed useful for Thailand in monitoring international economic and financial market directions, as well as in shaping policies and investment environments that are competitive and responsive to investor needs in the long run. In his meetings with the 3 leading U.S. financial institutions, the Prime Minister affirmed Thailand’s readiness to welcome capital and cooperation from international investors to create opportunities for quality investment that will contribute to economic growth, infrastructure development, and high‑potential industries, as Thailand does not seek just capital inflows, but true partners to jointly build the economy of the future.
