Bangkok, July 21(AseanAll)  — On July 21, 2026, at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Thai Government House, Thai Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek disclosed about the meeting between Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and Mr. Kash Patel, Director of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), on occasion of the latter’s visit to Thailand. Both parties discussed elevation of cooperation on suppressing transnational crime, particularly the scam network, which has affected people across the world.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Thailand has declared transnational crime as a national agenda, and has taken concrete action by seizing assets worth tens of billions Baht of the criminal networks. The FBI Director commended Thailand’s success in cracking down on scammers and transnational crime, including its efforts against drug trafficking, international criminal activities, and human trafficking. Cooperation between the FBI and Thailand, especially with the Royal Thai Police, has been going well. The two parties agreed to further strengthen collaboration, particularly in sharing and exchanging information.

Both the Prime Minister and the FBI Director exchanged views and agreed to strengthen cooperation in the following key areas:

• Law enforcement cooperation: The FBI thanked Thailand for co-hosting the Summit for the Scam Centers in Bangkok on July 20–21, 2026, and commended Thailand as an important law enforcement partner in enhancing regional collaboration against online scam networks.

• Combating criminal networks: Both parties agreed that the goal is not only to arrest offenders but also to work together between Thailand and other countries to completely “eradicate” scam networks and transnational criminal organizations.

Toward the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working closely and elevating cooperation as transnational crime affects people worldwide and requires serious international collaboration for prevention and suppression.
