Bangkok, March 19 (AseanAll) — On March 19, 2026, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul gave a press briefing, following a meeting of the Joint Management and Monitoring Center for the Situation in the Middle East, to reaffirm that Thailand has not experienced any shortage of gasoline. Crude oil imports continue as usual, while production capacity and output remain the same with no reductions.

However, it was the public concern that has led to an increase of more than 10 million liters per day in oil consumption, from the normal level of about 60–67 million liters per day to around 84 million liters per day. In light of this, the Government commits to expediting measures to ensure that the country’s oil distribution system return to normalcy as quickly as possible.
The Prime Minister has instructed relevant agencies, particularly Ministry of Energy, to intensively manage the situation and to reassure the public that there is no need to stockpile oil. There is also the urgent need for the more efficient logistics management to deliver oil to service stations across the country. This is to ensure that people have continuous and equitable access to fuel.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that oil shortage was not an issue. Both production and imports remain normal. He called on the public to ease their concerns and added that stockpiling is unnecessary.
