Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister receives an introductory call from South Korean Ambassador to Cambodia

Phnom Penh, February 2 (AseanAll)  — On the morning of 02 February 2026, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received an introductory call from KIM Changyong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister warmly welcomed the Ambassador on his appointment as the new ambassador of the ROK to Cambodia and expressed satisfaction with the growing relationship and fruitful cooperation in various sectors between Cambodia and the ROK. 

The Ambassador reaffirmed ROK’s strong commitment to strengthening its partnership and cooperation with Cambodia, particularly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. 

Both sides discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in various areas, including trade and investment, defense and security, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. 

They also exchanged views on recent developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border issue.
