Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Attends the Handover Ceremony for the Second Phase of the Solar-powered Streetlights Project in Thakayta Township, Yangon

Yangon, January 30 (AseanAll)  — On January 29th,2026, themed “Yunnan Hand in Hand Program” the handover ceremony for the Second Phase of the Solar-powered Streetlights Project in Thakayta Township was held in Yangon,Myanmar.

The event was attended by more than 50 guests, including Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ma Jia, Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay, Chairman He Yuxiang of YEIG U-Energy Co., Ltd., and representatives from Chinese and Myanmar communities.

The Second Phase of the Solar-powered Streetlights Project was co-funded and implemented by the Yunnan Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and YEIG U-Energy Co., Ltd. With a total investment of RMB 380,000, the project was initiated in July 2025, installing 40 sets of off-grid solar-powered streetlights in public areas of Thakayta Township.
