Kuala Lumpur, January 27 (AseanAll) — On January 26, 2026,the Forum on Building a High-level Strategic China-Malaysia Community with a Shared Future, organised by Southeast Asia Research Centre for Humanities (SEARCH) and Malaysia Friends of Silk Road Club, and co-organised by Malaysia-China Friendship Association, has convened in Kuala Lumpur.

Present to speak were Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing and Minister of Transport of Malaysia, Loke Siew Fook. The forum gathered close to 400 participants from political, business, and academic sectors of Malaysia.
Ouyang said that in 2025, China-Malaysia relations yielded fruitful and pragmatic outcomes, China’s 14th Five-Year Plan came to a successful conclusion, and China’s Governance injected continuous stability and certainty into a changing, turbulent world. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China stands ready to work with Malaysia to seize historic opportunities, advance the alignment and mutual progress of development strategies, and write a new chapter in building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future.

Loke Siew Fook emphasised that against the backdrop of profound global transformation, both Malaysia and China should work together to strengthen supply chain resilience, advance innovation, and achieve mutually beneficial win-win outcomes. He believes that in the future, the Malaysia-China partnership will continue to expand and deepen, yielding even more fruitful cooperation results.
