Secretary-General of ASEAN bids farewell to the Permanent Representative of Timor-Leste to ASEAN

Jakarta, January 22 (AseanAll)  — Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn on January 22, 2026 received a farewell call from Natércia Cipriano Coelho da Silva, outgoing Permanent Representative of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to ASEAN, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat. 

Dr. Kao commended Ambassador Natércia for her invaluable contributions to the work of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and for her strong leadership in advancing Timor-Leste’s full integration into ASEAN, following its admission as the eleventh Member State of ASEAN, at the 47th ASEAN Summit, on 26 October 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Dr. Kao also extended his best wishes for Ambassador Natércia’s future endeavours and reaffirmed the ASEAN Secretariat’s continued support for her successor and the Permanent Mission of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to ASEAN.
