Chinese Mission to ASEAN Holds Welcome Reception for Ambassador Wang Qing

Jakarta, January 23 (AseanAll)  — On January 21, 2026,the Chinese Mission to ASEAN held a reception to welcome the new Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Wang Qing. Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, diplomatic envoys of ASEAN countries and dialogue partners to ASEAN, high-level officials from the ASEAN secretariat and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as many other guests attended the event.

Wang Qing stated that under the strategic guidance of leaders of both China and ASEAN countries, the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has kept making progress, setting a fine example for building a community with a shared future for mankind. China’s 15th Five-Year Plan resonates with ASEAN’s vision for future development and offers an opportunity list for the region and the world at large. China stands ready to work with ASEAN to seize opportunities and deepen cooperation to take China-ASEAN relations and East Asian cooperation to a new high.

ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn and Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN H.E. Sarah Al Bakri Devadason addressed the event respectively, applauding the fruitful results of China-ASEAN cooperation and highlighting ASEAN’s readiness to deepen cooperation with China to jointly meet challenges, uphold stability and promote development. 

Guests offered congratulations to Ambassador Wang on assuming the new post and expressed willingness to join the concerted efforts for new progress and achievements in China-ASEAN relations.
