Indonesian President Prabowo Inspects Development Progress in Nusantara Capital

(AseanAll)  — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in the Nusantara Capital (IKN), North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province, on January 12, 2026, to personally inspect the progress of ongoing development.

Prabowo landed at the helipad of the State Palace at 18:45 Central Indonesian Time (WITA) and was welcomed by Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono and other officials.

The visit marks an important milestone in the development of the Nusantara Capital, underscoring the Government’s commitment to ensuring the project proceeds as planned and remains sustainable.

During the visit, Prabowo is scheduled to stay overnight in the National Capital area. On the following day, he is set to inspect several strategic development sites to assess construction progress and infrastructure readiness.

The President’s visit further reinforces the Government’s policy direction to develop the Nusantara Capital as a modern, green, and sustainable center of governance, while reaffirming the continuity of the project as a symbol of Indonesia’s future transformation.

Accompanying the President were Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Government Communications Agency Angga Raka Prabowo.
