Chinese Ambassador-Designate to Brunei Holds a Disscution with Heads of Chinese Enterprises in Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan, January 15 (AseanAll)  — On January 15, 2026, Chen Shaochun, Ambassador-designate of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam, held a discussion with heads of Chinese enterprises in Brunei. 

About 30 attendees were present, including Mr. Shi Rongke, counselor of the Embassy, Dr. Li Feng, President of Chinese Enterprises Association in Brunei(CEAB), who is also the general manager of BANK OF CHINA(Hong Kong) Brunei Branch, and representatives of Association members. 

In his address, Ambassador-designate fully acknowledged and expressed his gratitude for the efforts and contributions made by Chinese enterprises in promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation and fostering the development of relations between the two countries.

He noted that this year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan and the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brunei. He encouraged enterprises to seize opportunities, take proactive actions, enhance their political awareness, deepen practical cooperation, focus on daily production safety, conduct business with integrity and compliance, and actively fulfill their social responsibilities. He hoped that Chinese enterprises in Brunei would work together with the embassy to make new and greater contributions to the building of a China-Brunei community with a shared future and the steady and long-term development of bilateral relations.

Li Feng and representatives from relevant enterprises outlined their efforts to establish a deep presence and expand cooperation in Brunei, actively contribute to Brunei's economic and social development, and serve the broader interests of China-Brunei relations.
