Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force Makes Introductory Visit to Singapore

Singapore, January 5 (AseanAll)  — The Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Brigadier General (BG) (U) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji Ahmad Daud called on Singapore Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing at the Ministry of Defence of Singapore on the afternoon of January 5,2026. 

During their meeting, Mr Chan and BG (U) Haji Haszahaidi reaffirmed the close and long-standing bilateral defence ties, with 2026 marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of defence relations between both countries. Mr Chan and BG (U) Haji Haszahaidi also discussed ways to deepen defence cooperation between the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the RBAirF.

As part of his introductory visit from 5 to 7 January 2026, BG (U) Haji Haszahaidi also called on Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng and Chief of Air Force Major-General (MG) Kelvin Fan. MG Fan presented BG (U) Haji Haszahaidi with the RSAF Honorary Wings award in recognition of his significant contributions towards strengthening the bilateral relations between both Air Forces. BG (U) Haji Haszahaidi will visit the Counter-Terrorism Information Facility and the RSAF’s Participation Command tomorrow.

BG (U) Haji Haszahaidi’s visit underscores the close and long-standing defence relationship between Singapore and Brunei. The RSAF and the RBAirF interact regularly through high-level visits, professional exchanges, cross attendance of courses, and the bilateral exercise - Exercise AIRGUARD. These interactions have strengthened the mutual understanding and friendship between the two Air Forces.
