(AseanAll) — The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon announced that 54 Indonesian citizens from Shwe Kokko, part of the second wave of repatriations, crossed to Thailand on the morning of December 12, 2025. The Indonesian citizens were transferred from Myawaddy to Mae Sot by land after obtaining border crossing permits from the Myanmar and Thailand authorities.

During their stay in Thailand, the Indonesian citizens received full assistance from the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, including immigration facilitation, transportation coordination, and arrangements for their departure to Indonesia.

The Indonesian citizens returned to to Indonesia from Bangkok in the early hours of December 13, 2025. Upon arrival at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, they were received by relevant agencies in Indonesia, including the BP2MI Banten, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant institutions for further assessment and handling.
The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon urges the Indonesian public to be vigilant against overseas job offers that do not follow official procedures and to ensure that all departures are conducted through legitimate and verified channels to prevent fraud and exploitation.
The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon also reaffirms its commitment to continue facilitating the repatriation of hundreds of other Indonesian citizens currently under surveillance by Myanmar authorities in Kayin State due to an online fraud operation by Myanmar authorities. The repatriation process will be carried out in stages depending on the availability of documents and conditions on the ground.
