Fuzhou,November 16 (AseanAll) — On 16 November 2025, Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister of the Ministry of the President Office of Myanmar in Fuzhou,Fujian Province,China, on the sidelines of the latter’s attendance to the ASEAN-China Week (ACW) 2025.

Also present at the meeting were Naing Min Kyaw, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, U Tin Maung Swe, Ambassador of Myanmar to China, and Mr. Hlaing Oo, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Hotel and Tourism of Myanmar.
Shi Zhongjun thanked Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing for gracing the ACW 2025 and expressed appreciation for the importance the Myanmar government places on ASEAN-China relations and its strong support to the ACC.
He briefed the delegation on the theme and related activities of the ACW 2025, emphasizing that the ACC, as an intergovernmental international organization jointly established by China and ASEAN Member States, is committed to implementing the consensus reached by both leaders, deepening synergies on strategies, and promoting practical cooperation across various fields and people-to-people exchanges between ASEAN and China. He noted that the enduring Pauk-Phaw friendship between China and Myanmar continues to thrive, and the ACC has maintained close communication and cooperation with Myanmar. Looking ahead, the ACC stands ready to continue leveraging its strengths to facilitate the expansion of China-Myanmar cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, agriculture, vocational education, and the youth exchanges, translating consensus into tangible outcomes that enhance the well-being of both peoples.

U Ko Ko Hlaing appreciated the invitation and commended the ACC on its contributions to promoting ASEAN-China cooperation and Myanmar-China relations. He stated that the friendship between Myanmar and China remains unbreakable, and the frequent meetings between the leaders of the two countries have provided strong impetus for the development of bilateral relations. Noting that China is the largest trading partner and major source of investment of Myanmar, he expressed Myanmar’s willingness to continue advancing major connectivity projects with China to further tighten economic and trade bonds.
He highlighted agriculture as a key area and expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation with China in agricultural technology, machinery, and pest control, so as to enhance the modernization of Myanmar’s agricultural sector. Myanmar is willing to align its agricultural product standards with those of China and seeks connection to the China-Laos-Thailand Railway to facilitate the entry of more high-quality Myanmar agricultural products into the Chinese market. It is hoped that more Myanmar youth could study in China to learn China’s advanced experiences and technologies. Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing reiterated Myanmar’s full cooperation with China in combating telecom fraud, welcoming more Chinese investment in and more Chinese tourists to Myanmar.
U Ko Ko Hlaing wished the ACC every success in hosting the ACW 2025, expecting the event would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen strategic synergy, expand areas of cooperation, and inject new vitality into the China-Myanmar friendship in the new era, thereby contributing to the building of the ASEAN-China Community with a Shared Future.
