ADB Appoints Isabel Chatterton as Director General for Private Sector Operations

Manila, October 1 (AseanAll)  — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Isabel Chatterton as Director General for its Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD). She assumes office on October 1,2025. 

Ms. Chatterton will lead PSOD’s strategic direction to boost sustainable private investment across the region. This will include strengthening innovation, scaling development impact, and deepening collaboration with the private sector and key partners. Her appointment reflects ADB’s continued focus on strengthening institutional capability and delivering value to its members and clients.

Together, we can accelerate progress toward sustainable and inclusive growth in Asia and the Pacific.”

Ms. Chatterton has over three decades of experience in infrastructure, private sector development, and international development finance. Prior to her appointment at ADB, she held senior positions at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank, including most recently, Senior Adviser to the Vice President for Cross-Cutting Solutions at IFC. She previously led IFC’s infrastructure investments across Asia, overseeing a team of 100 professionals, and headed IFC’s public-private partnership (PPP) advisory practice across Asia, pioneering new infrastructure sectors, innovative transaction models, and strategic partnerships with development finance institutions.

A dual national of Spain and Colombia, Ms. Chatterton has a Doctorate in Commerce and an MBA in International Business (with Distinction) from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom; and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
