Malaysia strongly condemns Israeli airstrikes in Syrian and Lebanon

Putrajaya, July 17 (AseanAll)  — Malaysia strongly condemns the airstrikes by the Israeli Zionist regime against the Syrian Arab Republic in Damascus and Druze city, as well as against Lebanon in the Bekaa Valley, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia on July 17, 2025.

The statement said that the attacks clearly violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and Lebanon in violation of the United Nations charter, humanitarian law and international human rights law. The strikes resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people, including civilians.

The international community must not tolerate the continued aggression by the Israeli Zionist regime against other countries, threatening regional and international peace and security, the statement said.

Malaysia calls upon the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to exercise its charter-mandated responsibility to end the cycle of violence, towards achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
