Beijing, June 24 (AseanAll) — On June 23, 2025, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with a delegation of former Thai ambassadors to China led by former Thai Foreign Minister and Ambassador to China Tej Bunnag. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on China-Thailand relations and issues of mutual concern.
Sun Weidong highly commended Tej Bunnag and other former Thai ambassadors to China for their important contributions to the development of China-Thailand relations and said that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Thai leaders, China-Thailand relations have entered a new era of building a community with a shared future. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the "Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship". China is ready to work with Thailand to strengthen strategic communication, enhance unity and cooperation, seek common development and prosperity, and advance the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future to a higher level and deeper dimension, so as to cope with uncertainties of the external environment with the stability and resilience of China-Thailand relations.
Tej Bunnag recalled his personal role in promoting the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China fifty years ago, saying that the two sides have always stood together through thick and thin and helped each other, and their relationship has become ever more robust and resilient.
Tej Bunnag said that he was glad to visit China upon invitation on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Thailand diplomatic relations to personally feel the vigorous vitality of Chinese modernization and witness China's active contributions to regional stability and development.
