Philippine President Marcos sends condolences to India over deadly plane crash

Manila, June 12 (AseanAll)  — Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. extended the nation’s most heartfelt condolences to India, saying Filipinos are deeply saddened by the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad.

“On behalf of the Filipino people, I extend our most heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India, and especially to the families and loved ones of all those who lost their lives,” President Marcos said in a message posted on his social media accounts on the night of June 12, 2025.

“Our thoughts are with every family, across India and beyond, grieving this profound loss. We stand in full solidarity with the people of India in this moment of sorrow,” the President continued.

“May the victims be remembered with dignity, and may the ongoing efforts to understand this tragedy bring comfort and clarity to those left behind,” said Marcos.

The London-bound Air India flight with 244 people aboard crashed and exploded after takeoff from the airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday, with no known survivors according to news reports.
