Indonesian Gov’t Allows Private Sector Involvement in National Infrastructure Development

Jakarta, June 12 (AseanAll)  — The Government is open to private sector involvement in national infrastructure development, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has stated.

“I now invite the private sector, both domestic and global entities, to be fully involved in our infrastructure development—as much as possible, as extensively as possible,” the President said during his keynote address at the 2025 International Infrastructure Conference at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), in Jakarta, on June 12,2025.

To attract more investment, the Government is committed to simplifying licensing processes, facilitating projects, and maintaining stability to ensure that the development proceeds without disruption. The President also welcomed the establishment of service centers that accelerate the realization of infrastructure projects.

“I welcome centers or offices that facilitate all projects—secured, and safeguarded—so that the grand development plans are not disrupted,” the President stated.

The President further stated that increased efficiency has resulted in state budget reserves that can now be used as joint investment capital with the private sector. According to the President, this will provide reassurance to investors.

“We are now confident in inviting cooperation, be it the private sector or global partner. We are confident, and the Government will participate with a specific contribution. We’re not asking for free shares, but we are truly contributing with real money, with significant capital,” the President remarked.
