(AseanAll) — Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to Indonesia, Armin Limo, at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 22, 2025.
Both parties discussed various aspects of the bilateral relationship that has been well-established so far.
The meeting discussed the potential for economic cooperation that could enhance welfare, including opportunities for trade collaboration. In addition, Foreign Minister Sugiono encouraged business actors from both countries to consider the opportunities for expanding market access for Indonesian products in BiH.
The meeting also discussed efforts for consular cooperation in order to intensify people-to-people contacts. In addition, efforts to coordinate in addressing global issues of mutual interest through cooperation in multilateral forums were also discussed.
Regarding the framework for cooperation in strategic sectors, both discussed Bosnia and Herzegovina's plan to participate in IndoDefence 2025 from June 11-14, 2025, in Jakarta, as a forum for further exploration of military-technical and defense cooperation between the two countries.
The total trade value between Indonesia and BiH in 2024 reached USD 12.8 million, with a continuously increasing trade trend post-COVID-19 pandemic.
