Indonesian president meets with Singaporean Prime Minister to strengthen the strategic relations between the two countries

Kuala Lumpur, May 26 (AseanAll)  — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister (PM) of Singapore, Lawrence Wong, on May 26, 2025, at the Meeting Room of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia.

Taking place in a warm and productive atmosphere, the meeting served as a momentum for both leaders to discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation. Prabowo emphasized the importance of close collaboration amid the uncertain geopolitical landscape.

“In today’s global geopolitical and economic situation, it is crucial for us to work closely together. We have ASEAN, our own capacity, and domestic markets. I believe this will provide greater strategic weight,” said Prabowo.

Lawrence Wong, in turn, welcomed the opportunity to have a direct discussion with President Prabowo. He also expressed optimism regarding future opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

“There is great potential to strengthen our bilateral relations. There is much we can do together,” he stated.

As ASEAN member states, Indonesia and Singapore share a common responsibility to uphold regional stability. This bilateral meeting reflects the strong commitment of both countries to building a mutually beneficial partnership and responding to global challenges through concrete collaboration.
