Hanoi, May 15 (AseanAll) — Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for Chairman of China Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd Peng Gangping in Ha Noi on May 14,2025, according to Vietnamese government portal(VGP).

Pham Minh Chinh appreciated the support that the Chinese firm has provided to Viet Nam Electricity (EVN) in fields of energy saving, development of green and sustainable energy and power projects in Viet Nam.
The Prime Minister called on the firm to assist EVN in enhancing science and technology in power industry, and clean energy security to meet the country's development needs in the coming period.
Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the company's continued investment in green energy projects, such as wind power, solar power, biomass, hydrogen, energy storage, and pumped-storage hydropower in Viet Nam.
Peng Gangping, for his part, said that Huadian has invested approximately US$2.8 billion in power projects in Viet Nam, with a total installed capacity of 1.5 GW, including Duyen Hai Thermal Power Plant in the southern province of Tra Vinh and four wind power projects in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.
He recommended the Vietnamese Government continue to improve investment policies for green energy projects such as wind power, solar power, biomass, hydrogen, energy storage, and pumped-storage hydropower.
Peng Gangping emphasized the need for policies supporting technologies that upgrade traditional energy systems, promote energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and enable flexible retrofitting of coal-fired power plants.
Huadian Engineering is a state-owned enterprise that has been listed among the world's top 500 companies for 13 consecutive years. It operates in four main sectors: advanced equipment and engineering systems, investment and construction of power plants, clean energy, and environmental protection in power industry.
The same day, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Chen Sichang, General Manager of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), a subsidiary of the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC).

Tran Hong Ha said, the development of modern and high-speed railway lines is one of the strategic tasks identified by the Party and the State of Viet Nam as a top priority in the current period.
Emphasizing that cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises will contribute to building a sustainable friendship between the two countries, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the CCECC to focus on long-term investment, share benefits, and contribute to the development of Viet Nam's industrial ecosystem and railway construction.
Chen Sichang, for his side, expressed desire to participate in high-speed railway projects in Viet Nam, including the railway line connecting Viet Nam and China.
He committed that, if selected to participate in Viet Nam's railway projects, the CCECC will ensure high standards, good quality, and timely progress; and closely cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises in mastering and developing technology within Viet Nam's industrial ecosystem and railway construction.
