Ramos-Horta participated in a critical session titled “Navigating Asia’s Hotspots” at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, addressing escalating geopolitical tensions in the Asia-Pacific region. The session, organized by the Center for Regions, Trade, and Geopolitics, focused on strategies to prevent conflict escalation amid complex strategic interests and shifting power dynamics.

Ramos-Horta expressed cautious optimism about Asia’s future amidst shifting global dynamics. The panel, featuring leaders from Timor-Leste, the Philippines, and Indonesia, alongside foreign policy experts, examined the impact of recent changes in U.S. foreign policy, particularly under the Trump administration, on regional stability and trade.
