Thai Prime Minister meets with representatives of Thai-Chinese Exim Association

Bangkok,November 18 (AseanAll)  — On November 18, 2025,  at the Thai Government House,  Thai Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat disclosed that honorary president of the Thai-Chinese Exim Association (TCEA) Kittipong Terattanachai and president Weera Wanitpithak led members of the association to pay a courtesy call on Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul to exchange views on Thailand’s import and export policies.

TCEA members attending the meeting represented wide-ranging business sectors, i.e., hospitality, real estate, food, publishing, tools and hardware, and electrical equipment, fromTheerachai Paisarn Corporation; Miloff Hotel Sathorn; TOA Paint (Thailand); S. Khonkaen Foods; Thai Hua Rubber; Yan Wal Yun Corporation Group; Deestone Corporation; European Food; SahaThai Terminal; Thai Union Group; Thai Housing Development; Kiah Hua Tong Nguan Daily News (Sirinakhon) (Publishing); and TTC Power Tools, etc.

According to the Thai Prime Minister, Thailand and People's Republic of China have been forging a strong relationship. During the recent APEC Leaders’ Meeting, he had the opportunity to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where he affirmed the Thai Government's commitment not to legalize casinos to stimulate the economy, and to place highest priority on the safety of Chinese tourists. This affirmation pleased the Chinese President who agreed to encourage more Chinese citizens to travel to Thailand.

The Thai Prime Minister also mentioned his role as Minister of Honor in the recent state visit of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen to the People's Republic of China, during which he had the opportunity to discuss further with the President and Prime Minister of China to build upon the discussions made at the APEC Leaders’ Meeting, The Thai Prime Minister especially called on China to help promote Thai agricultural products. The negotiations were successfully concluded, with China confirming its intention to import 500,000 tons of Thai rice. The Prime Minister also extended an invitation for the Chinese President to pay an official visit to Thailand.

These accomplishments reflect China's positive attitude towards Thailand, and that Thailand and China are as close as one family. The Government will seize this opportunity to further strengthen cooperation in various dimensions, including economy, security, tourism, and cultural exchange, for the benefits of the people of both countries.

TCEA took the opportunity to brief the Prime Minister on its past performances, highlighting the association’s significant role in promoting trade and investment between the two countries. TCEA also regularly carries out CSR activities, i.e., provision of relief bags to flood victims and essential supplies to military personnel in the border areas. They also commended the Government's effort in solving various national issues, especially online scams, and proposed that the law be amended to increase severity of penalties and measures.

On tourism promotion, TCEA proposed introducing direct financial incentives for Chinese tourists, i.e., the use of Alipay and WeChat Pay for payment across various tourism services. The Thai Prime Minister welcomed TCEA’s proposals and recommendations, and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to continue to promote Thailand-China cooperation in a tangible manner for mutual interest in the long run.
