Kuala Lumpur, October 27 (AseanAll) — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held a pull-aside meeting with Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 26,2025.

On the occasion, Hun Manet recalled the outcomes of President Marcos’ State Visit to Cambodia last September. He expressed his appreciation to the Philippines for supporting Cambodia’s peaceful resolution of the border dispute with Thailand and for its participation in the Interim Observer Team (IOT) mechanism to monitor the ceasefire between the two countries.
As the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) has now been signed, the Cambodian Premier expressed his hope that the Philippines will continue to support and participate in the AOT mechanism.
Hun Manet also reiterated Cambodia’s support for the Philippines as it prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026.

In response, Marcos expressed his pleasure at the positive progress made toward resolving the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute, particularly the signing of the peace deal today. He reaffirmed that the Philippines will continue to participate in all mechanisms requested by Cambodia to help ensure lasting peace along the border.
Marcos also shared the Philippines’ priorities for its upcoming ASEAN Chairmanship next year.
Both leaders agreed to continue strengthening and expanding bilateral relations and cooperation in line with the outcomes of Hun Manet’s official visit to the Philippines in February and President Marcos’ State Visit to Cambodia in September.
They also exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
