(AseanAll) — On 28 August 2025, Maris Sangiamponsa, Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between Thailand and the ICRC to promote compliance with international humanitarian law, particularly in international forums.
The Minister also shared the latest developments in Thai-Cambodian tensions, including a further landmine incident in Thai territory on August 27, which regrettably disabled a Thai soldier.
Maris Sangiamponsa further underlined Thailand's respect for and prioritization of adherence to the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, noting that the continued use of social media in the dissemination of disinformation and propaganda aimed at inciting public confrontation by Cambodia is a key obstacle to resolving the issue, and also violates international law.
State President Luong Cuong held talks with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in Beijing, on September 4, as part of his visit to China to attend the 80th anniversary of the victory against fascism.
