Myanmar Foreign Minister holds meetings with the Foreign Ministers of China and Thailand

Anning, August 15 (AseanAll)  — During the visit to Anning, China to attend 10th Mekong-Lanceng Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related meeting, U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar met with Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on 14 August 2025 and Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China on the same day, respectively. 

At the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, both sides updated the recent developments in respective countries and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in border affairs. 

During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, the two sides discussed matters relating to bilateral relations and cooperation. 

The Union Minister also apprised his Chinese counterpart of the preparations for the upcoming election in Myanmar. In response, the Chinese Foreign Minister expressed China’s full support for the holding of the election and for political developments in Myanmar.
