Timor-Leste President Receives Australian Study Visit Group at the Presidential Palace

Dili, June 16 (AseanAll)  — The President of the Republic of Timor-Leste, J. Ramos-Horta, received an Australian study visit group at the Presidential Palace on June 16, 2025, facilitated by Mrs. Kirsty Sword Gusmão.

The annual visit aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Timor-Leste’s sociopolitical landscape, history, and culture, fostering stronger interpersonal ties between the two nations.

During the meeting,  Ramos-Horta expressed his deep appreciation for the consistent support demonstrated by these study visits, which often translate into tangible benefits for local communities. The President particularly praised this year’s group for their commitment to contributing funds to a multilingual education program, a crucial initiative to improve early learning outcomes.

The Presidency considers these regular meetings invaluable, not only for the direct assistance provided to vital sectors such as education, but also for building a network of informed advocates for Timor-Leste in Australia. Such visits underscore the strong and lasting friendship between the two countries and highlight the shared commitment to Timor-Leste’s sustainable development.
