Jakarta, June 11 (AseanAll) — Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, attended the Indo Defence 2025 Expo & Forum, held from 11 to 14 June 2025 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Republic of Indonesia.
The delegation from the Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam comprised Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and His Excellency Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Indonesia.
The Opening Ceremony of the Indo Defence 2025 Expo and Forum was officiated by His Excellency General (Retired) Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, marking the official launch of one of Southeast Asia’s largest defence exhibitions.
Held biennially, the Indo Defence 2025 Expo & Forum is an exhibition of defence technology and industry that showcased a diverse range of cutting-edge military products, demonstrating advanced capabilities across the main domains of land, aerospace, maritime, and security. This year’s event was held concurrently with the Indo Aerospace 2025 Expo & Forum and the Indo Marine 2025 Expo & Forum, which brought together approximately 1,180 defence companies from 42 countries, featuring 32 national pavilions and attracting 37,000 delegates and trade visitors.
With the theme “Defence Partnership for Global Peace and Stability,” the exhibition served as a strategic platform for fostering defence diplomacy, dialogue and strengthening cooperation whereby the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II also had the opportunity to engage with counterparts from ASEAN Member States as well as other international partners attending the exhibition.
The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II also held a bilateral meeting with Lieutenant General (Retired) Dr. Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, congratulated him on the successful hosting of the Indo Defence 2025 Expo and Forum, as well as discussed strategic and regional matters of mutual interest. Both ministers also underscored the long-standing defence relations between the two countries and reiterated commitment to further strengthening the cooperation.
The Indo Defence 2025 Expo & Forum also featured international seminars, technical product presentations, live demonstrations, and networking opportunities to strengthen cooperation among global defence leaders and industry experts.
