Malaysia Minister of Defence Meets Singapore Minister for Defence

Singapore, May 30 (AseanAll)  — Malaysian Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin is in Singapore to attend the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD). Dato’ Seri Khaled met with Singapore Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing, on the sidelines of the SLD on the evening of May 30,2025.

During the meeting, both Ministers reaffirmed the warm and longstanding bilateral relationship between Singapore and Malaysia. 

Both Defence Ministers discussed regional security issues and cooperation between Singapore and Malaysia in regional multilateral platforms such as the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM), ADMM-Plus and the Five Power Defence Arrangements.

Singapore and Malaysia’s defence establishments interact regularly across a wide range of activities, including bilateral and multilateral exercises, visits, professional exchanges, and cross-attendance of courses. These interactions strengthen mutual understanding and professional ties.

Dato’ Seri Khaled is in Singapore as part of Malaysian Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s delegation. Anwar will deliver a Special Address at the SLD on May 31.
