China's top leader Sends Message of Condolences to Vietnamese leaders over the Passing of Former Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong

Beijing, May 24 (AseanAll) — On May 24, 2025, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong over the passing of former Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China

On behalf of the CPC, the Chinese government and the Chinese people, Xi Jinping expressed deep condolences and extended sincere sympathies to Tran Duc Luong's family.

Xi Jinping pointed out that Comrade Tran Duc Luong was an outstanding leader of the Vietnamese Party and state, who made significant contributions to the development of Viet Nam and its cause of Doi Moi (renovation). As an old friend of the Chinese people, Comrade Tran Duc Luong made unremitting efforts to promote the development of relations between the two parties and the two countries. Xi Jinping expressed his belief that under the strong leadership of the CPV Central Committee headed by Comrade To Lam, the Party, government and people of Viet Nam will surely turn grief into strength and continue to achieve new accomplishments in the cause of socialist development.

According to Vietnamese government portal(VGP),Vietnamese former President Tran Duc Luong passed away on May 20, 2025 at the age of 88.
