Washington, D.C., February 19 (AseanAll) — On the afternoon of 18 February 2026, HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a working discussion with Ambassador Jamieson Greer, United States Trade Representative, while leading the Royal Government of Cambodia delegation to the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington, D.C., United States.

During the meeting, Jamieson Greer highly commended Cambodia’s efforts to promote the steady growth of Cambodia–U.S. bilateral relations, particularly in the trade sector. Notably, bilateral trade between the two countries increased by nearly 29 per cent in 2025 compared with 2024, while U.S. investment in Cambodia has also grown significantly—reflecting the deepening trust in cooperation between the two nations.

In response, HUN Manet expressed his high appreciation for the efforts of the U.S. trade team in negotiating and concluding the Reciprocal Trade Agreement between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the United States, which established a tariff rate of approximately 19 per cent on Cambodian exports to the United States.
On this occasion, HUN Manet expressed his gratitude and high appreciation for the continued efforts of U.S. President Donald J. Trump in facilitating the ceasefire on 28 July 2025, the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration on 26 October 2025, and the Joint Statement on 27 December 2025, aimed at ensuring long-term peace between Cambodia and Thailand.
HUN Manet and Jamieson Greer expressed their shared optimism that, through the joint efforts of both countries, Cambodia–U.S. relations will continue to strengthen, particularly through further growth in bilateral trade and increased U.S. investment in Cambodia. Samdech Thipadei underscored that Cambodia would continue its efforts to complete all necessary procedures to ensure the full implementation of the Reciprocal Trade Agreement for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Before concluding, HUN Manet and Jamieson Greer discussed several potential areas of cooperation to enhance mutual interests and jointly address outstanding issues, with the aim of further expanding bilateral trade and increasing U.S. investment in Cambodia.
