Foreign Ministers of Myanmar and Malaysia hold Bilateral Meeting

Nay Pyi Taw, May 21 (AseanAll)  — U Tin Maung Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, met with Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia who was on a working visit to Nay Pyi Taw, on 19 May 2026. The Union Minister also hosted a working lunch to the Foreign Minister of Malaysia and his delegation.

During the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers cordially discussed matters relating to enhancement of relations between Myanmar and Malaysia at the bilateral level and in the context of ASEAN. They exchanged views on promotion of existing cooperation in the areas of mutual interests.

The Malaysian delegation arrived in Nay Pyi Taw by a special flight on the afternoon of 19 May 2026 and was welcomed by U Naing Min Kyaw, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon arrival at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport. The delegation departed for Malaysia on the evening of the same day.
