Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Attends Opening of Exhibition on Ecological Protection Achievements of Yunnan's Plateau Lakes

On November 24,2025, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition on ecological protection achievements of Yunnan’s plateau lakes and the ecotourism promotion event, titled "Sharing River Waters, Building Lush Mountains Together" at the Bangkok China Cultural Center.

The event was also attended by Deputy Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, Somdet phra maharatchamongkhonlamuni; Mr. Wanni Nonsiri, Inspector-General and Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand; and Preang Kitratporn, President of Phranakhon Rajabhat University.

Zhang Jianwei  stated that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets." He emphasized that Chinese President Xi Jinping recently met with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand in Beijing, where important consensus was reached on enhancing cooperation in ecological conservation, environmental protection, and people-to-people exchanges. China is willing to work with Thailand to implement the Global Development Initiative and jointly build a clean and beautiful world.

Zhang Jianwei expressed hope that the exhibition would inspire people from both countries, especially the youth, to actively participate in green development efforts. He called for deeper collaboration in green transition between China and Thailand, working together to write a new chapter in the bilateral relationship for the next 50 years.
